Four students and their teacher from Belgrave Heights Cristian School focused their efforts on creating a sensor that could remotely monitor the water quality so as to best platypus back up the creek from Birdsland. The Platypulse Team achieved second place in the Thales competition - and were thrilled that the judging panel saw such merit in their efforts.
It was with much excitement then that we convened the Yarra Ranges Tech School SMART Farming discussion at the Lilydale Lakeside campus of Box Hill Institute. More than 70 attendees were present including teachers, students, council staff, agriculturalists and scientists to hear a series of short concise presentations.
With the theme for National Science Week being Destination Moon: more missons, more science it provided a fantastic base for Yarra Ranges Tech School to showcase the flexibility and broad application of our technologies and learning spaces.
