Description
Can your team design the fastest car on the track?
In this high-energy engineering challenge, students step into the world of motorsport to design, test, and race a Formula-style car. Working in teams, they modify key aerodynamic components using 3D modelling software, then test their designs in a virtual wind tunnel to analyse airflow, drag, and downforce. Students apply an iterative design process, refining their car based on performance data before taking on specialised roles within a race team, such as driver and race engineer. The program culminates in a simulated time trial race, where strategy, teamwork, and engineering decisions determine the fastest car.
This immersive experience combines physics, digital technologies, and teamwork to explore how real-world engineers design for performance, efficiency, and competitive advantage.
