In an exciting collaboration, students from Worawa Aboriginal College recently participated in the innovative Puffing Billy Media program in partnership with Yarra Ranges Tech School (YRTS). This unique opportunity provided the students with full access to the iconic Puffing Billy Railway, allowing them to explore and document the experience in a professional media setting.

Equipped with YRTS’s cutting-edge 360 cameras, video cameras, and SLR cameras, the students spent the day capturing the charm and history of Puffing Billy from every angle. The railway extended full media privileges to the students, granting them exclusive access to the locomotive and their own passenger car, ensuring they could document the journey in detail.

The immersive experience didn’t stop there. As budding media professionals, the students will now move on to the post-production phase. They will process the video footage and photographs to create new content that Puffing Billy Railway can use for promotional and educational purposes.

This hands-on experience not only provided the students with invaluable media production skills but also offered them a unique perspective on the cultural and historical significance of one of Australia’s most beloved heritage railways.
