Koorie STEM Camp

The Yarra Ranges Tech school is opening bookings for a new 3-Day Koorie STEM Program is an exciting opportunity for students to immerse themselves in STEM while also connecting with Koorie culture. Here’s what participants can expect:

• Design Principles and Koorie Culture: Students will explore design principles related to Koorie culture. This unique blend of creativity and tradition will inspire innovative thinking.
• Walking on Country: Led by Uncle Darren Wanden, students will venture into the natural environment to learn about sustainable land use. This hands-on experience will deepen their understanding of the interconnectedness between culture, land, and science.
• Robotics and Laser Cutters: Participants will have the chance to work with cutting-edge technology, including robots and laser cutters. They’ll gain practical skills and insights into how these tools can be applied in various fields.
• Koorie Speakers: Engaging talks by Koorie speakers will focus on topics such as astrophysics, country, and design. These sessions will broaden students’ horizons and inspire curiosity.
• STEM Challenges: Throughout the program, students will tackle STEM challenges that encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity. These hands-on activities will reinforce their learning and foster a passion for STEM.
• Daily Transport Included: Convenient daily transport ensures that students can fully participate in all program activities without any logistical hurdles.

Please note that this is new program, and different and complimentary to the Koorie Student Program.
