Careers in STEAM: Rail Academy

Recently the Rail Academy visited our tech school for the final session of our Careers in STEAM program for 2023. During this session, they engaged with our students, shedding light on the various career opportunities within the rail industry and highlighting the pivotal role of sustainability in large-scale construction projects.

We were fortunate to have two remarkable speakers who shared their personal journeys and career paths with our students. The event was attended by students from CIRE Community School and Mooroolbark College.

Students participated in an activity focused on sustainable development at the Yarra Ranges Tech School, all thanks to the collaboration between The Rail Academy and industry experts. During this activity, students delved into the diverse career options available in this thriving industry. They were given the challenge of devising a plan for a sustainable railway station, taking into account both budget constraints and sustainability measures.

All groups did really well and came up with some exceptional plans.
