On May 29 2022 we opened our doors to the public to showcase all the wonders that we have here in the Yarra Ranges Tech School. We welcomed many people through the doors on a very fresh Sunday morning, all interested in Makerspace for different reasons and applications.
Our great friends from Eastern Region Libraries facilitated fun activities like robots and crafts for the younger kids while big kids and adults were taken on a tour through all Tech School Facilities.
Adults were then actively watching and participating in Technology demonstrations on 3D Printers, Vinyl Printer & Cutter, Sewing Machines, Laser Cutters, Water Cutter and CNC Machines.
Lots of people had specific questions about how they could use these awesome machines to help design and prototype etc. for their various small businesses from Jewelers to Furniture Designers.
We even had whole families with a plan for each of them to use our Tech for their many and varied hobbies.
Lots of people that attended were ready to sign up for a Makerspace Membership so they can get started on all their exciting projects.
Izzy’s Easy Coffee van was pumping out the hot drinks and snacks for everyone and our friends at the Victorian Brotherhood were keeping everyone happy with a super sausage sizzle, raising funds for their very worthy cause.
All in all it was a really great day and we plan to have another one later in the year.
