YRTS embraces sustainable products in its refurbishment

As part of a facelift for the Yarra Ranges Tech School, we sought to incorporate sustainable design elements into the build.  This included opening up the space to allow more natural light, modifications to room lighting, and using sustainable materials where possible.  In particular, YRTS’s selection of carpet tiles has ensured that 23,000 PET bottles have been diverted from landfill or removed from our oceans.

We were extremely proud to have Tracey Shugg and Jordan Sinclair from ‘Above Left’ (the supplier for our sustainable floor tiles) visit the Tech School, to see the final design and to present a certificate acknowledging the diversion of PET bottles from Landfill and Oceans. YRTS is looking forward to developing a strong relationship with Above Left as part of our ‘Sustainable House’ program, with a goal to include sustainability through all of our programs.
