Over the 30th and 31st of March the Generate 22 Conference was held at the Lilydale Lakeside Campus. Working closely with our industry partners Exaptec (conference organiser) and ANCA Engineering (Principal Sponsor) we developed a student program to complement the formal conference. More than 150 students attended this program across the two days undertaking a program which included attending speaker sessions, competing in a robotics and coding competition and networking with the 18 Exhibitors at the conference. The latter was an extremely important aspect of the program allowing students to explore and engage industry professionals on the opportunities, trends and considerations of working in the Robotics and Automation industry.
It was fantastic to host Casey Tech School staff and several of their partner school students as part of the program on Day 1 with Yarra Ranges Tech School students joining for Day 2. My sincere thanks to all of the YRTS staff who as always went above and beyond to ensure that the program was a huge success. It was fantastic to see the students engaging with the exhibitors, asking questions of the speakers and the healthy competition between the student teams for the robotics challenge. It was fantastic to watch Upper Yarra Secondary College students demonstrate the Robomaster’s they built and coded as part of their lunch-time robot club to ANCA Engineers and senior managers.
We are actively working with Exaptec on the dates for Generate 23 and we look forward to providing more information to our partner schools and organisational partners on this fantastic opportunity.
