Description

What if you could rewrite the ending?

Students take the director’s seat and reimagine a familiar story with a dramatic twist. Using professional tools and industry practice, they recreate and storyboard a movie with a new twist, blending English, media, and design skills into a cinematic storytelling experience. They develop key skills in storyboarding, scripting, camera direction, voice recording, digital illustration, and special effects, with a focus on translating literary elements into visual language.

Throughout the program, students script and storyboard a reimagined story using professional techniques that convey sequence, mood, character, and cinematic style, using tools such as graphic tablets, green screen, video editing software, and illustration programs to bring their scenes to life. Collaborating in small production teams, students explore camera angles, lighting, sound, and special effects, gaining insight into real-world film and media production roles, while strengthening their English skills in writing, planning, and purposeful communication. The program culminates in a movie premiere, where students present their final storyboards or short film clips to an audience.
